PERSONAL / UNSECURED LOANS

How does a personal loan settlement work in India?

A compromise settlement is a lender-approved agreement to resolve outstanding dues on specific terms. You can enquire about available options if your loan has become difficult to repay, but no third party can guarantee a reduction or force a bank or NBFC to accept an offer.

What should I do first?
  1. Collect the latest outstanding statement, repayment schedule and lender communications.
  2. Assess your actual repayment capacity rather than promising an unaffordable amount.
  3. Contact the lender through an official channel and ask about applicable repayment or settlement options.
  4. Ask for written terms if the lender proposes any compromise.

CREDIT CARD DUES

What if I cannot pay my credit card outstanding?

Start with a complete statement of the balance, interest and charges. The card issuer may discuss repayment arrangements or, for some accounts, a settlement. Settlement eligibility, terms and timing vary by issuer.

What risks should I understand?

Unpaid balances may continue to attract charges under applicable terms. An issuer-approved partial settlement may be reported as settled rather than closed. Get the agreed terms and reporting implications in writing.

RECOVERY PRACTICES & GRIEVANCES

Recovery agents should not intimidate you.

RBI instructions for covered regulated entities restrict threatening or harassing collection conduct. They include restrictions on persistent calling and calls before 8:00 AM or after 7:00 PM. Your debt obligations do not disappear simply because an agent behaves improperly.

How should I raise a complaint?
  1. Keep a log of call dates, numbers, messages and names where available.
  2. Complain in writing to the lender's official grievance or nodal officer.
  3. If eligible and unresolved, consider the RBI Ombudsman route under the applicable 2026 scheme.
  4. Seek professional help for threats or legal processes that need immediate attention.

CIBIL & FUTURE BORROWING

“Settled” is not always the same as “closed.”

When a lender accepts less than the complete payable amount, it may report the account as settled. A fully paid account may be reported as closed. Lenders may view these differently when considering new credit.

Can anyone guarantee that my CIBIL score will improve?

No. Avoid promises to erase an accurate settled status or guarantee a higher credit score. Discuss the reporting status with your lender, retain official records and raise disputes only about genuine inaccuracies.

    Our approach

    Clear steps. No unrealistic promises.

Understand the issue first, assess lawful options and document decisions carefully.

    01 · Understand your situation

Review your repayment difficulty, lender communication and applicable deadlines.

    02 · Explore available options

Consider restructuring, lender-approved settlement or appropriate complaints and legal review.

    03 · Check written terms

Understand the terms, documents and possible impact on your credit history before making decisions.

    An enquiry you can understand

What happens after you reach out?

No hidden client portal or imaginary case tracker. Here is the transparent process this introductory site is intended to support.

    01

    Describe your concern

Choose your loan, credit card, recovery or notice issue and give basic contact details.

    02

    Reference your enquiry

If our connected submission service confirms receipt, you'll see a reference to retain.

    03

    Discuss suitable options

If contacted, review your circumstances, available guidance and any necessary qualified professional support.

    04

    Make an informed decision

Any paid engagement or lender proposal should have clear written terms before you proceed.

Not an instant settlement service.Submitting a form does not enrol you in a programme, stop recovery activity, or change your loan balance.Start an enquiry ↗
    Why choose clarity over promises?

Trust begins with knowing what to expect.

When money and legal concerns are involved, we believe customers deserve straightforward explanations, realistic expectations and visible contact information—not inflated success figures.

    01

    No guaranteed reductions

A bank or NBFC decides whether to approve a settlement. We do not promise a particular waiver percentage or outcome.

    02

    Know the trade-offs

We explain risks such as credit-reporting consequences, ongoing dues, and the importance of written lender terms.

    03

    No sensitive documents upfront

The enquiry asks for a concern and basic contact details, not Aadhaar, PAN, OTPs or bank statements.

    04

    Legal guidance within limits

General information is not a legal opinion. Individual notices and proceedings require review by a qualified advocate.

    Process & fee transparency

    What about fees?

Submitting this enquiry does not itself involve an online payment. Any proposed professional or advisory service, scope, fees, taxes and refund or cancellation terms should be disclosed to you in writing before you consent to a paid engagement. No specific fee schedule is published on this page.

    Borrower questions

    Answers without the fine-print surprises.

Can every unsecured loan be settled?

No. Settlement is not automatic. It depends on the lender's policies and the circumstances of the account.

Will settling a loan affect my credit score?

It can. A “settled” account is not the same as a fully repaid “closed” account, and future lenders may consider this difference.

How should I respond to aggressive recovery calls?

Keep records of calls and messages, use the lender's official complaint channel and seek qualified legal advice when appropriate.

Can I get legal notice assistance?

You should identify the sender and deadline and obtain case-specific review by a qualified advocate when needed.

How much does a Loan Settlement Buddy enquiry cost?

There is no payment step in this enquiry form. If any paid service is offered later, request written scope, fees, and cancellation/refund terms first. No particular consultation price is advertised here.

Will you stop recovery calls or court proceedings?

No automatic pause happens when you submit an enquiry. Complaints about improper conduct and lender negotiations have separate procedures. Never disregard a legal deadline.

Do I have to share bank statements or Aadhaar here?

No. This introductory form asks only for your selected concern, repayment situation and contact details. Do not enter account numbers, PAN, Aadhaar, OTPs or passwords.

    Questions are welcome. Pressure isn't.

We aim to make the first conversation easy. Choose email or connect through our official social profiles; the phone number isn't published yet.

    Our commitments

    Privacy, consent & important terms

How do you handle my enquiry details?

This form collects your name, mobile number, optional email/city, issue selection, repayment situation and consent. The connected Google Apps Script is configured to send these fields to the operator's Google Sheet. The operator must restrict access and establish appropriate retention, deletion and correction processes. Do not share PAN, Aadhaar, OTPs, passwords or bank documents here. For questions or data requests, email porteliq@yahoo.com.

    Fees, engagement & service limitations

Enquiry submission is not a contract for a paid service or legal representation. Any subsequent paid offer should disclose scope, costs, refund/cancellation terms and responsibilities in writing. No settlement or waiver is guaranteed. Case-specific legal advice requires a qualified advocate.

    Loan settlement and credit-history disclosure

Borrowers remain responsible for agreements with their lenders. Complaints about recovery conduct do not by themselves eliminate debt. Settlements may be reported as “settled” and can affect later borrowing. Check official lender communications and independent sources.

Your Loans. Your Rights. Your Way Forward.

Take the next step with clarity. Loan Settlement Buddy helps borrowers explore their options—not promises that every debt can be settled.
